HP4200c sanner & Win 2000

I have a client with a HP4200C scanner on a Win2k workstation. It works when u first install the software then it won't work anymore... unless u uninstall then reinstall the software (drivers etc)....(then it goes once only, again!)
Has anyone had this rotten experience with HP scanners and if so can it be fixed. I'm sick of trying and the client is getting pissed off!

Have you got the latest drivers for the scanner?
Have a look at the HP website to see if there are any reported problems between the scanner & Windows 2K

make sure that the still image service is running and set to automatic (under administrative tools >componenet services)
I have had lots of problems with hp scanners and win2K
make sure that all old drivers (ESP for other HP scanners are removed

Also, I own a 4200C and never could get it to work every time. It's a piece of junk, in my opinion. They used to have a 4200C forum on the old HP site. There were hundreds of people posting problems with it.
