HP4000 sends extra sheet on startup.

When I startup my computer the HP4000 sends a sheet with some (about 5) symbols in upper left corner as first sheet of first print job. This also happens after a reboot. Does anybody know why this might happen and how to avoid it? Thank you.

This is NOT caused by "epp cable"! Try a different driver.

that was two statements sorry check that it is a 1284 ieee cable and check that in the bios that the port is set to epp in cmos. that can cause that. So long and thanks for all the fish.
