HP3180 Software doesn't open

Hello

I successfully installed the Photosmart C3100 Series software which came with the printer, however the software has never opened up after the installation. At the last stage of the setup a message appeared stating that the software will open up to set preferences, however it did not.

I have tried pressing the "scan/reprints" button on the printer however this has not launched the program. The printing function of the all-in-one works perfectly, just not the software (scanning etc). Could someone please help with this matter? Thanks

Is this a new printer only install? I mean, do you have other software installed? Remove all in control panel and then install with firewall off, and antivirus off. If using XP, allow the found printer wizard to open, then just close it, and install off CD.
