HP1220C printing problems 1

When I upgraded from Windows 98 to XP, the print quality of my HP1220c declined, a shadow appears above the text. I've gone thru the printer file troubleshooting and cleaning. Test pages appear normal but Microsoft Office Word 2003 docs quality is poor.

what driver are you using?

go to HP support and download the latest driver for XP for that printer...
