Hi There,
We have a 4 year old HP ZV5000 laptop that is having intermittent shutdown problems. It appears to boot up fine and will stay on for varied periods of time, then just shutdown. It happens during both AC power and battery power. We have tried both during process of elimination. Also, it does appear to be a complete shutdown and not hibernation because when rebooted the active processes at the time of shutdown do not resume.
The laptop has been opened up and cleaned, the fans cleaned, and it is still shutting down intermittently. The time lapse between shutdowns varies.
There have been no other hardware changes or modifications. Any idea what the problem could be and/or how we might go about diagnosing the problem?
Thanks for any help in advance.
