Hey everyone

We've just recently started working with hp xw4400 workstations, and I have noticed that the CPU (Intel C2D E6420 2.13Ghz) isn't running at the right speed. I have a Quad at home and I had to turn off the C1E setting in the BIOS to stop it from throttling the CPU when idle, but I can't find any option in the HP BIOS to do this. I have flashed it to the latest version but still no option exists. What I was wondering was whether there was a hidden area within the BIOS that you need to access to change advanced system settings such as this?

Any help is much appreciated. Many thanks :)

Why would you want to turn that off? As you pointed out, it only throttles the CPU when it's idle. All you'll end up achieving if you turn it off is an increase in your electricity bill.
