Not really being famliar with HP's networking reputation which deal would all of you rather have?

Catalyst 2950 & Catalyst 2924 M XL Enterprise Ed
PRICE: $2948.00

OR

4000m Procurve & 2124 Procurve
PRICE: $2,379.00

Geez I wish my clients gave me this choice. Go with the Cisco platform. Much better support, much easier to configure (I've done both). And there are waaaay more people out there who can help you with the 2900's.

Just my 2¢
Jeff

PS, why a 2924XL when you can get a 3524XL for the about the same amount?

Thanks for the input. I wasn't aware of the 3524XL and will have to look into it. Hopefully CDWG carries it... The HP deal is on but I was already thinking CISCO was better.

CDWG? Are you Fed? I got 5 from lanblvd in September for $8500 shipped. They are currently advertizing at $1709 ea plus S/H. If you're Edu you can get em for cheaper than that.

nah... local gov... the 3524 doesn't look that bad! As long as we have fiber/gig ports on at least 1 we are okay. Do you know if lanblvd gives discount to local gov since I can't seem to find it on cdwg?

Give lanblvd a call, I'm sure they'll work with you. When I bought them they were going for about $200 more than they are now. So my total was about a grand over what my PO was approved for (I work for Dept. of Commerce). I just told the salesmen exactly what I could spend and he lowered his price to match. I walked away with a very good impression of the company which is why I'm recommending them.
