During startup on a HP-UX 11.0 box, I get an error stating that the desktop messaging system could not be started. The suggested course of action is to login under the failsafe mode, check to see that the desktop is properly configured, check the hostname, and check the network. I am sure the hostname and network are correct, but am at a loss as to where to check that the desktop is configured properly. I lanched the SAM program and everything looks OK to me. Has anyone come across this before? If so, if there is a document that has the fix or if someone has time to point me in the right direction, I would be very happy.
