Hello:
A HP-UX 11.0 system, when it reboots, only comes up to single-user mode. Console shows "#" sign and only "/" is mounted. /etc/inittab shows level 3 is the default level. On console, I saw a few lines of fsck errors. Even comment out those disk mounting entries from /etc/fstab, reboot it. Still comes up on single user mode. From console, I enter "# init 3", the system boots up all the way to multiuser mode. Revise /etc/fstab to its original, issue "#mountall", all disks are mounted. I check /etc/ad/syslog/syslog.log, it does not record any error; /etc/rc.log shows bootstrap exeutes all the scripts, includes all in rc3.d
Thanks in advance.

Guess it wouldn't do any harm to fsck the disks which aren't mounting cleanly in the first place?

I don't mind people who aren't what they seem. I just wish they'd make their mind up.
