HP Tape Device w/ 2 SCSI inputs

I have an HP Storageworks SDLT 320 tape device with 2 scsi inputs in the back.

I am wondering if I can connect 2 machines to the same tape device? I know some pitfalls:

-Make sure you switch tapes
-Make sure the backups do not coincide with one another or there will be a conflict.

Anything else I should keep watch for? Is it even possible?

I ask because one compaq tape device is broken and I am having to switch cables from one box to another to accomplish my backups on these 2 boxes.
