Right I have a Compaq Proliant ML370, it's a PIII-800 box, so quite old (Bios is 2002)
I have been tasked to try to get HP Systems Insight Manager, version 4.02 installed.
The CD I have is not even reconised by the server - put it in the drive and it thinks it has no cd in the drive!
If I try to copy the data from the CD, on another machine, I get read errors, as if the CD is copy protected or something, and if I share the cd drive and map the share on the server (which has Windows 2003 installed with ALL the latest Hotfixes by the way) it trys to install but fails due to not being able to read the media.
I am currently trying to download the SIM 4.02 from HP's website - it is a 306Mb download, and I am stuck on a 512K ADSL link, getting 55Kb/sec, so it'll take a while...
Now, has anyone had similar problems? Am I using totally wrong hardware? (ie, do I NEED a newer server)
Or shall I get my rubber mallet now and beat the server into submission (or complete hardware failure)
( I also posted this into thread484-1013298 - I did not see this forum until after, opps.)
