HP StorageWorks MSL5026SL automation

HI!
I am using a HP StorageWorks MSL5026SL DLT tape library with two drives, and the capacity to store 26 tapes within the drive. I have five weeks worth of tapes loaded in the empty slots, and can manage the drive over the internet, but I was wondering how I go about automating the loading and unloading of tapes? I've heard this is possible using sql scripts, but have no idea how to approach this! If anybody has tried this sort of thing I would love to hear from you!
