Hi ,,

I have a customer have the following Server from HP:

HP SERVER OFFER

HPE ProLiant ML30
Gen10 Intel Xeon E-2224 Quad-Core (3.40GHz 8MB)
16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666V-E UDIMM
4 x Non-Hot Plug 3.5in
1 X 1TB 7.2K RPM SATA
Large Form Factor
Smart Array S100i
No Optical
350W

Ask me if this is OK for Server Edition implementation? I need your opinion Experts.

Thanks

I'd never allow anything to run on 1 hard drive, but if it meets Avaya's specs, you should be fine.

you also need to know if it is a software raid or hardware raid in the server even though you only have 1 hard drive. Could not load to a software raid when we tried, and Avaya could not figure it out.

It's software RAID, "Smart Array S100i" The S in the model is for Software....

But with only 1 drive, RAID is a moot point.

Might be different as we were using a Dell server when we tried this. The only thing Avaya suggested was that the software RAID was the problem. Had to load VMWare then the app server for this.

Given that the amount of users etc is a key factor to spec, its impossible for anybody to say.

Avaya have 2 servers they supply, depending on size of deployment.

I wouldn't run it directly on hardware, backing up is much simpler if run on a hypervisor.
