HP Scanner

Hey People

I have a HP Scanner (usb) on a clients pc, it is one of those that you can push the little blue button on the scanner and it opens up HP Scanjet software and scans the picture/material.... well this one doesn't. I have tried installing the software and drivers again, I have used the diagnostic program that comes with the software that tells me the scanner's communication is working properly but when you try and use it, the scanner software pops up and says that it is open by some other device.... I can't find any conflicts anywhere or anything else pointing to the scanner.... if anyone can help that would be apreciated..

There may be new drivers at the HP web site. I had an HP 4200 once and I had the same problems with the buttons. I finally quit using them and put a shortcut on the desktop to use instead of the buttons. I bought a Visioneer to replace it and it has never failed me once. I had to use "voo-doo" and a good sharp "whack" on the HP to get it to even work. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....."

kewl man, well the clients might be getting a new pc so that will solve my problems anyway, but thanks for your help and i'll keep it in mind......
