HP RP 5700/5800

Does anybody know why, i have a hard drive running windows 7 with micros 3700 or E7 on them. Why wont the hard drive work in either or? When i pull it out of the 5700 and put into the 5800, it will not load windows. Does anyone know how or what i need to do to be able to swap between a 5700 and 5800? Any help will be truly appreciated.
