After turning on the PSC 750 a Scanner failure message is displayed and then says to turn back off and on again.

Also looking for a manual on for it as well since I just got it and know nothing about it.

Any help much appreciated as well as tips or just anything you feel I should be aware of regarding this particular model.

I work on a lot of HP printers in a day, and actually had the same issue with a PSC 2175. Now, since I'm not sure if your issue is what I found today, I'll explain what this one was doing to cause the error.

The printer would come on, but would not come to the ready state in a timely manner. The printer would make some noise as if a gear or belt was slipping. Then would eventually give the Scanner Failure message. Watching the scanner, and the belt that drives the scanner, you could see that the noise was caused by the belt trying to move the scanner, but because the scanner was at it's furthest right position, the belt would slip. In effect, the scanner couldn't find it's home position.

To resolve my issue, was a matter of taking the scanner module off the printer, and opening it up to get under the glass. On the bottom of the glass, in an area that you can't see from the top, is a white strip. This one was dirty, and no longer white. The other thing I had to do, was remove the small cover on the scanner unit itself, and clean the lenses and mirrors. Once this was done, the scanner could now find it's home position. You may or may not need to go so far as cleaning the lens and mirrors, but because the one I worked on was so bad, it was needed. Hope this helps.
