My daughter is away at college and is using the hp psc 1210 printer. It appears that the drivers for this printer have been severely restricted such that there is no way to print in B&W unless you physically remove the color cartridge! According to the HP site when you do remove one of the cartridges "Print quality may not be as good and printing will be slower than if both print cartridges are used"!!!
When the specs say "HP PSC 1210 all-in-one prints and copies at up to 12 ppm in black, up to 10 ppm in color" what do they mean??
To print in greyscale you cannot select this from a properties setup feature; apparently you have to convert the document to greyscale beforehand and the printer will automatically print it as such using the 2 cartridges.
Has anyone else run across this problem? Is there a way around it? Can I get her to load a different HP driver that will allow more control over the printer?
