Hello

I have a very big and strange performance issue with a SBS 2003 on a HP Proliant ML 350 G4. At random but a few times a day clients are complaining the server is slow : opening and saving files, problems sending mail and like it comes up, it disappears.
At the moment of delay i get event id 7011 timeout NTFRS and sometimes.
1 server with 10 PC clients and 3 macs. Antivirus = kaspersky, administration was on server.
This steps has been taken :
- checking the network cables with network device
- change network switch, change fiber cables
- clean reinstallaton of the server on other hard drives without restore system state or exchange database. After clean install, installation of kaspersky and total uninstall of kaspersky on server and clients
After clean install on friday, at monday the problem was back.
- RAID controller has been replaced
- Main board has been replaced.
- backplane raid has been replaced.
Still error 7011 and sometimes :
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ESE
Event Category: Performance
Event id : 510
Description:
Information Store (5368) First Storage Group: A request to write to the file "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb" at offset 24424488960 (0x00000005afd02000) for 1048576 (0x00100000) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (66 seconds) to be serviced by the OS. In addition, 0 other I/O requests to this file have also taken an abnormally long time to be serviced since the last message regarding this problem was posted 13306 seconds ago. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

But almost all hardware has been replaced.
On the net there a lot of same stories but with no solution for me at this moment.

I don't have any ideas anymore. all kind of help is really appreciated.

Kind regards

Philip

have you updated all the firmware on the unit and, system drives etc...

Just a thought

Yes all updates : drivers psp 8.70 and firmware.

Had you tested/replaced the RAM or HDDs? Do you have any RAID utility set up and what does it say about the drives and integrity of the RAID?

"Silence is golden, duct tape is silver...

Do you have shadow copy enable for the drives?
Disabled it and see what happen.
