HP Proliant DL380G3 - Memory reporting

I have recently installed w2k server sp3 on a couple of these machines. They both have 4 GB of RAM installed, but windows only reports 3.5 GB
I came across a microsoft article relating to the intel profusion chipset which reserves 256mb for memory-mapped I/O devices.
Is anyone aware of a similar feature on the serverworks grand champion le chipset?
