Does anyone know if it is possible to switch off the auto mdi/x feature on HP Procurve switches? It can cause problems if people accidently create a loop in the network. (Normally you would need a cross over cable to cause this)(we don't want to use spanning tree on our network as this causes lots of problems).

Thanks

Turning off the auto speed sense also turns off auto MDI/MDIX

Trouble is when you have lots of switches you don't want to set the speed/duplex manually for each port.
