We've experienced an issue with half of our procurve switches where they just stop working. All the port lights are on but you can't ping anything on the switch and 2 pc's on the same switch can't ping each other. As soon as we move over to a new switch everything works. The weird thing is that this happened to about 6 or 7 procurves at the same time. Even tried restarting the switches and they were totally non responsive. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm guessing it some kind of bug that would effect all 6 at the same time.

Have you recently updated any code on them? I just updated some code on a 5400 and it would come up for a few minutes then go into an alarm state and drop all connections. I talked to Procurve tech support and the engineer told me there was a command bug that he know about and to add
no ip icmp redirects to my config. He also said I might have gotten a corrupt download of the newest software. I has already booted the switch to my secondary, added the no ip icmp redirects command and reflashed my primary with the re-downloaded software. Force switch to boot from primary and came up just fine that time. So one of those was the culprit.
