I have an HP Pavilion Computer (P4 at 2.52) with Windows XP Media Center Edition and three HP Printers (LaserJet 6L, DeskJet 895 Cse, Office Jet 6100). When I click on print (it doesn't seem to matter what program I am in, e.g. WordPerfect 11, QuickBooks 2003, IE 6.0), it takes up to 30 or more seconds for the printers to begin printing. These printers were in use with my prior computer (Windows 98) and this did not happen. I am looking for help on speeding up the time it takes from when I click print to the time the printer actually begins to print. Any assistance will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Have you tried adjusting the priority in the printer properties panel and possibly set options to begin printing immediately, etc. , etc. ?

I'm just gonna guess that media center addition adjusts these 'automatically' to improve performance of sound and graphics.

My XP Pro installation prints immediate to my Laserjet 1300 and my OfficeJet 600 series. No delays.

I have isolated the problem to WordPerfect V11, V10 and V9. Gonna take a look at Corel's website to see if I can download the lastest drivers. With other programs, printing is within 10 seconds. With WP (currently I have installed V11) it is no less than 30 seconds and this morning I actually had to wait 2 minutes and 14 seconds.
