I have an HP 693C printer. I just had it cleaned by a Tech and the problem of the carriage slamming all the way to the right was fixed.

I now can print ANYTHING - except TEXT - Test page, Graphics., web page, Microsoft help page - but NOTHING I type will print.

The carriage runs back and forth after the print command (Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office 2000 (Word)but NOTHING prints.

Suggestions?

Go to HP.COM and download the correct driver. I think that might be the problem.

A friend had a similar problem and it was determined that his text font color was set to white giving the appearance of printing but leaving the paper blank.

Wow wunkunn... that's funny as heck. White font color? That's something I haven't heard in some time.

Saundra1, you could also upgrade the firmware (if possible).
