HP Printer Out of Paper 1

We have an issue at work, so far we have 18 printers all keep showing out of Paper(Print Queue) then they will start working ok again then Out of Paper(on the Print Queue only.

All the Physical Printers show Ready....

Make sure the firmware versions are up to date on these printers, especially on the JetDirect card. What print of printque / server environment do you have ?

Put some more paper in them.

I have updated the firmware on all the Jet Direct cards... Also I found that the physical tray setup as shown in Jet Admin were incorrect so I matched the paper type on the printer to that of the driver and bingo all works....


Oh and I put paper in them

That's what the problem sounded like... the wrong paper size to tray assignment. But it sounds like you figured it out for yourself.

I thought I had fixed it however some printers are still showing this error, the printer shows ready but the queue shows out of paper.... It will clear after about 3 hours however!!!!! any idea's now??????
