HP printer leaving faint mark down left side of page

Hi

We have a HP 4100 printer, which is currently printing a faint mark down left side of page. This is also occurring on HP 2300. See image for example. Please advise what I can do to fix?

That repeating pattern is usually indicitave of the OPC drum on the cartridge. If you've tried a different cartridge, I would next look at the fuser.

It's got to be one of those two.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I inserted a new toner\drum unit yesterday and problem still happening.

If it is a fuser, are they expensive and hard to install?

I changed the fuser (found instructions online) and print quality is fine now. thanks
