HP photosmart won't print color yellow 1

My HP Photosmart 7960 quit printing the color yellow. I changed color cartridges (tried 3 different new ones), recalibrated, reset the system, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, installed the latest drivers, and cleaned the cartridges. Nothing worked. Color photos and color documents print nothing but pink and gray. The test sheets don't print yellow. HP replaced this unit twice so far and now the third one is doing the same thing. Each printer works fine for about three months before the problem with yellow happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It could be a firmware problem I had similar fault for a year and it took three printers, each time the firmware needed to be upgraded, but there was an error in the upgrade, so that the fault kept reappearing until HP suddenly confessed all. I got a refund and bought a different printer in the end.
