HP OV Alarm descriptions

Hello I have HPOV 6.1 on Windows NT. Ihave installed all the neccessary traps, but when I get messages on my alarm browser the format is always numberical i.e. recieved event 3.4.5.2.2.4.2.2 etc...
Please can someone tell me why this is the case. I have even installed the trap files and restarted the services.

I suspect you do NOT have the proper trap defenitions loaded. Go to your MIB browser and start working down the tree using the OID of the incomming event. Start at the .iso.org.dod.internet.private and work down from there. You can get the numerical OID by clicking the "Describe" button for each layer down.
