Hi all, having problems with the 4215 all in one printer. I have it running on kubuntu linux and there isnt a driver for this exact model so I was thinking that could be the issue. It feeds the paper, the print head moves, it sounds like its printing but there is nothing on the page. I use it to make copies and it prints fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Take the tape off of the print head.

Thanks for the reply....there is no tape on the print heads. Would make sense, but as I said I have been making copies using it and it prints clear. Any other suggestions?

Darn it. It's never that simple. ;)

So... it works when you make a copy (stand-alone).... how about doing a test page from windows? (right-click printer --> Properties --> Print test page)?

If that works, then it's probably your software (whatever you're trying to print from). If that doesn't work, then it's likely the driver.

The test page was a no go...tried it prior to posting this. The OS is Linux and I used the driver for the Officejet 4200 series with the same results and also the driver for the 4115 series, but there was no specific one for the 4215. There was nothing on HP website either....Any suggestions on where to find the correct driver? that was my first inclination of what the problem was but I would think the drivers that come with Linux would work as HP tends to be pretty Linux friendly....Im stumpted lol..... Thanks again for your help.

Thanks, Ill give it a try. Would you know how to download and unpack it by any chance?

Thanks LawnBoy...ill check it out when I get to work today.
