If you happen to have hp Office jet modell 600 and you downloaded the software from hp or tried a re-install with the cd and or floppies you may get a message stating that there is an existing version on your computer even though you ran the uninstall from add/remove programs. It appears that the old software's uninstall program does not remove the program from the registry. The fix to this is first run the uninstall then run regedit go to the curernt user key/software and delete the HP registry key. Reboot, reinstall your HP software. This should do the trick. I use Windows ME, but im pretty sure that it will work for most window platforms. You may need to use regedt32 for Windows nt/Windows 2000.
