I have an HP that i am trying to rebuild, i have been able to finally delete the partitions using an old windows 95 bootdisk, using the fdisk feature. I have a xp pro cd that i am trying to laod from but cannot get the computer to read it. it keeps reading the a: drive (floppy). The bootdisk i have gives a Runtieme error 200 at 084e:0091. I cant get the pc to read the cd drive so i can load the new os is there anything I can do to get this thing to work. I have also tried using a windows 98 bootdsik but i must not have created it correct cause it calls is a non-systmes disk. Any help is much apperciated.

I have installed XP when I couldn't get it to load from the CD by using the 6 install diskettes. When they are loaded you will be prompted to install the CD.
Hope this helps.

I got it to finally work by finding an old win 95 boot disk and using fdisk off of that, now my only problem is the video, I was finally able to increase the screen to 1028 X720 from 640 x 480 but now I only get 7 colors to display. I have looked an found no drivers that are needed for a standard monitor and it is an onboard card. I am going to try adding a new video board and see what happens.
