HP MSL5000 - Not Picking Up Tapes When Reinserted

I have an HP MSL5000 Tape Library which is giving me the following problem.

Once a tape cartridge is removed and reinserted, the tape drive will not pickup tapes without a reboot of the server.

I have updated the Firmware on the device and have also had an HP Technician out to replace the robotic arm but neither of these actions has resolved the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am not clear on your problem.

1. How is the tape removed and inserted (manually or with picker) and where is it removed or inserted from (CAP or drive)?

2. What do you mean the tape drive will not pickup tapes? Tape drive does not see the tape once it is inserted into the drive or do you mean the tape drive (actually the library) will not pickup the tape to insert it into the drive?
