We're on a Win 2k server/pc enviroment. I have some word 2000 documents that look fine on my screen but when I print them it puts a couple of spaces between words, or a gap in between letters. We are using the PCL font. I've already tried to re-install the font's/drivers. But that hasn't worked. It also happens from every machine I try and print from.

Have you tried both the PCL5 and the PCL6?
Do you get this problem from all word docs?
What type of fonts are you using?
Also check the print preview to see if the problem is already there. Then it has nothing to do with the driver.

Kind regards Pysj`n

Similar symptoms can occur with some drivers (not sure if Win2K specific) if Word (for example) is set to use 'smart quotes' and other special non-ISO8859/1 characters.
[I think what happens is that the some drivers assume the wrong character widths for such characters].
If you are using this feature, try turning it off and see whether or not it makes any difference.
