SOLUTION: Reset the counter by turning the printer off and back on while holding down the ITEM - (ITEM MINUS) and VALUE - (VALUE MINUS) buttons simultaneously. The control panel will display the message, RESET MAINT COUNT.
NOTE: The message, PERFORM USER MAINTENANCE, must appear on the control panel and the page count must be past the service interval before it can be reset to zero.
