HP LJ 4p pauses after each page of long document

I am trying to print pages from a long document. The printer pauses after printing each page. This is only happening on one document which is very long and happens even if try to print only one or two pages. The printer is not on a network. I have tried changing the resolution to 300 dpi but that doesn't help. The total length of the document I am trying to print sections of is 170 pages. I had no problems printing the document on the same printer on my now crashed Dell computer which was running win98se, so I think the problem is with Win2k Pro. Any help would be much appreciated. If you are using word or excel for your document. Click Tools, Options, Print Tab and under default tray, select Auto Select and click ok. I beleive it should work now.

Or open up your document, go to file, print and select your printer at the top, then click on options in the dialog box and under default tray choose auto select.

They are both pretty much the same thing, just different ways to do it. Hope that helped.
