Hello. I have a user who has Windows 2000 SP3 on her computer who is having difficulties when printing multiple copies of a single document to a networked HP 4500. This problem appears to be appearing exclusively when printing from Word documents for the time being. According to the user, the first document will come out perfect and then the second document will then be shifted to the right exactly 1/2 of the page over cutting off the left side of the document and having an entirely blank right side. Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.

HP LJ 4500 text shifting when printing multiple copies of a document

Hey BrittaF02,
Did you ever figure out what was happening when the text shifted off the side of the page? I am having a similar problem. Some docuements print just fine, where others will print about 2 inches to the right and then run off the side of the page. I have looked at everything like the paper layout, paper selection, etc. I just don't know why one doc will print fine, and another will not print correctly. One last thing, when I print, it says that "The margis of section 1 are outside of the printable area of the page". So I'm thinking that it's a setting in WordXP, but I can't figure out what.

Like I said in my last post, installing it using TCP-IP port fixed the problem for me. Other ideas that you could try involve the following:
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 814038
use the Postscript driver instead.
Other than that, I have no other ideas.
