HP LJ 3600n Prints Blue page

Hi

I'm trying to fix a HP laserjet 3600n colour printer but it keeps printing 100% full BLUE pages.

I have replaced the toners and drums but it keeps doing it.

When i print a test page I can see the black print correctly under the full blue page.

Can anyone help??

Try to update the printers firmware and the DC Controller firmware:

Is there any cyan toner visuable on the transfer belt (large belt inside front cover)?

If the firmware updates or exchanging another toner cartridge solves this issue, I suggest that you call HP Support and arrange a service on the device.

err..typing error If NOT the following actions help, you have to call HP. Couldn't find any option to edit my post either.

Howdy. First, pull out all the toners, and look at the contacts on the left side of their slots. All three contacts should be bowed out. Make sure all contacts are clean.
Run a full calibration.
Are you using HP supplies? If not , the blue toner is the suspect.
Next would be the H/V PCB
Go to diagnostics menu, and select disable cartridge check. Swap the blue with the black, and test print.
If only black prints, then the H/V may be gone.
If only blue, then it's the toner.

Since the whole page gets blue it indicates that the cartridge "leaks" toner out all the time when rotating.
This leaking could be caused by the toner cartridge engagement that is misaligned so that the cartridge will be engaged at all times thereby leaking.
If it would be the HV that was faulty and no charge would be present on the drum no toner would attract either to it and on to the paper. So there is a charge on the drum. Also if there wouldn't be any HV present, the excess toner would end up all over in the printer.
My best suggestion is to check the eventlog for 54.XX or 10.XX errors indicating toner cartridge errors, calibration or toner engagement errors. Next make an alignement of the gears that has to be done by a CE knowing what he is dealing with.

hpwizzard you might laugh at this but we are a HP Authorized repair centre. I dont work in the printer area myself but posted on behalf of another engineer that has been trying to allign the gears as to HPs specs for over a week and it still prints blue.
HP issued a procedure that was lacking in all but the very basic detail.

There are two sets of cogs, both must be alligned correctly but where to get the technical specs of the allignment??????
HP are no help. Even their inhouse engineers are not too sure.

Well... I seldom laugh at people unless there's something funny connected to it
Anyway I happen to have some good documentation with images and stuff about the cartridge lock replacement procedure on the CLJ 300, 3600 and 3800 series that includes the alignment of the gears.
If you want that documentation you need to provide me with an upload location as this supportforum here doesn't have such basic thing like a short term temporary storage available and e-mail addresses are not allowed either

Maybe that's an idea for the keepers of this place
