Hi,
I have a LH4 with 12 x 36gb drives.
I have set up as 5 x raid 1 mirrors + 2 hotswap drives. across the 2 raid channels.

My question is this.

For maximum performance should I have each half of the mirror drives on one controller like this...

Channel 0: D: (1st mirror)
E: (1st ")
F: (1st ")
G: (1st ")
H: (1st ")
* hotswap 1

Channel 1: D: (2st mirror)
E: (2st ")
F: (2st ")
G: (2st ")
H: (2st ")
* hotswap 2

or have the mirror pairs together on the same channels like this...

Channel 0: C: (1st mirror)
C: (2nd ")
D: (1st ")
D: (1st ")
E: (1st ")
* hotswap

Channel 0: E: (1st mirror)
F: (2nd ")
F: (1st ")
G: (1st ")
G: (1st ")
* hotswap

Which is likely to perform faster - we need to have the disks in raid 1 mirrors and many volumes because of the database access style.

Thanks in advance
Jim
