Hi All,

I have a HP Laserjet 8150 that is constantly going offline.
The only way we can put it back on line is to press the button on the printer itself. How can I stop the printer from going offline and why does it do it.

Thanks
Darren

The network card may be going bad. Is it a 600, 610 ?
Replace with a 615 or 620.
Your print spooler may be getting corrupt.
Check the drivers.
Update firmware for the NIC through WebJet Admin.

If it's connected directly to a PC, go into Device Manager, find the printer, go into the properties and disable the power saving mode. It would say something like this under the POWER MANAGEMENT tab:

"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Uncheck the box in front of it.

If it's a USB printer (I'm lazy - didn't look it up), do the same for the devices like "USB Root Hub" in Dev Mgr. if there is the same option under those devices. Again, uncheck that box under Power Management.
