Hello... I have been able to install my HP 4200n LaserJet printer on Win2000 and XP Pro with no problem (across the network). But my latest machines w/XP Pro (Service Pack 2) gives the following error when attempting to install (at the point of copying files near the end of the install process): "The HP LaserJet 4200 Setup program has encountered a severe error and will now exit. Restart your computer and run Setup again".

I have tried repeatedly on different machines (all new with XPProSP2 already installed) with the same result. I have turned off the SP Firewall, Pop-up Blockers, and anything else that can be problematic. Anyone experiencing something similar to this? Thanks! -- Doug

Make sure you are logged in as the local machine administrator when you install the drivers.

See if there are new drivers on HP's site, post SP2 release.

Just a couple of thoughts.
