had paper jam while duplexing , paper got compacted in rear output area. opened rear tray , gently pulled allpieces of paper out of rollers.
no fragments left in this area or duplexer area or toner /paper trays
Orange warning light keeps blinking, presing go or cancel buttons has no effect

Help.....what is next step to get it printing again??

Probably a busted paper sensor (or hopefully it just came out of it's holder).

Just my $0.02

Have you opened the duplex path, underside of printer?
Sometimes you get a sheet left in there.
Does the printer turn when you open and close the top cover?

duplexer area is clear {have dropped duplexer metal sheet down and inspected}
printer has had no problems before

printer does not power up when toner door is opened then closed

the paper that you took out.. was it 100% there?

I'd bet that there is a little corner covering that sensor somewhere... you really need to open it up and take out the toner and tray.. open up the back.. possibly take out the fusor (if need be)

sensors arent that advanced.. its not often that they "go bad"

you may want to pull up the schematic at HP so you can see where the sensor is located I'm sure the error message its giving you says exactly what sensor is tripped
