Has anyone had problems with HP LJ1300 and older (circa 1996) software?

I've got one program (Studio M by Gold Disk/Astound Inc.) that locks up whenever I try to print to the LJ1300. Everything else prints to it with no problem. I've tried reinstalling drivers and have tinkered around with the spooling, but nothing seems to help.

Printer is attached to an IBM PC-340 P-100 running Windows 95 and is being shared on a Windows NT 4.0 network. OS on the workstations trying to print to it ranges from Win95 to Win2K...won't print with any of them.

Have you tried connecting the printer to another machine with a more upto date OS?
Win 95 is a bit on the old side now & shows it's cracks.

As I said, the printer works fine with more recent software. Office 2000 works like a charm. I don't think it's the operating system per se, but more likely some sort of incompatibility between the newer print drivers being used and the old 1996 software. [ponder]

I'm just curious to hear if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.

I presume you have downloaded the latest drivers for your printer.
How is the printer port setup in the BIOS?
