HP Laserjet 1200 in HP-UX 10.20 ?

I would like to know if this new Laserjet printer
(HP Laserjet 1200) is compatible with HP-UX 10.20

I would like to use in an application that prints
reports using standard commands (lp and xpr).
The old HP printer was broken :-(

Almost ANY printer will work on HP-UX 10.20, it is just a matter of how well you want it to work. If the HPLJ1200 is a PCL "smart" printer, meaning it will understand PCL commands, you can use the HPLJ4 device file. This device file is very common on hp systems. This will work just file for most lp command options, like no banner, pitch size, tray selection, so on and so forth.
Where you will have issues is if you need to do more complex requests like the output bin selection, 4-up on a page, color selection, things like this.
If your just wanting to use the printer for text report printing, or all your print requests are sending PCL, the HPLJ4 device file should work fine.

Use jetdirect software or webjetadmin software to setup network printer on HP10.20. Todays printer mostly come with jetdirect card if not you can use external jetdirect card.
