Anytime we try to print on a particular Laserjet 1020, we get only blank pages that print out. We've changed the toner, and we've tried to connect it on multiple PCs, but always the same result...is the fuser bad? I would think that except no powder toner at all is being placed on the page. Rather than spend more time on this $150 printer, I wanted to see if anyone had any fixes/ideas...Thanks in advance!

no tab to pull" is what is printed on these cartridges - they are HP cartridges and they have no tab (though I know what you are talking about). Thanks!

Well... for a laser printer to work, a few things have to happen.

1: The drum has to be able to pick up toner (which is usually prevented by a tab... but evidently not in your case)
2: The laser has to be scanning onto the drum. Check to make sure there are no obstructions. Is this a brand new printer? Has it ever worked?
3: The transfer roller has to charge, to pull the toner onto the paper. Is it seated completely? If it's not a new printer, is it in need of replacement?

If it's not a new printer, I would suspect the imaging unit... even with a bad transfer roller, you'll usually get *some* toner on the paper... although it may be very very light.
