Hi, not sure if this should be in the Windows 2000 forum but here goes.

I'm running a small Windows 2000 network (win2k on server and clients) and I've got an odd problem on a workstation where when you boot up and log in, when the local Laserjet 1020 is turned on it immediately starts printing a job that is always the first print job from the previous morning (usually a few hundred invoices!). It exhibits this behaviour about 70% of the time.

This particular workstation is doing quite a lot of printing during the day but somehow it "remembers" the very first job from the previous morning. Because only one account and corresponding profile logs into this workstation I'm not sure if it's the account, profile, workstation or printer that's causing this. Any ideas or how I should begin to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Dan

I would first look a what your using to call it to print. Is it an application or script? Is it set to clear itself after printing? Also, is it scheduled and if it is, was it scheduled wrong (like say to print that job once and then save it until the next morning and print it again). Without more info this is all I can think to tell you.

Thanks,

It's a browser print job (IE6). I'll check to see if it remains in the queue once printed but IIRC it seemingly clears yet miraculously reappears the next morning. I'll make sure this is the case and report back.

Thanks again

Dan

OK, an update on this. I've checked and it's not removing itself from the queue, it just prints then sits there till the next morning. Strange why it should remain in the queue when subsequent print jobs disappear fine after printing. Any reason why this would happen?

Thanks

Dan
