HP LaserJet 1000 spooling continuously

I have a HP LaserJet 1000 which cease to work after moving. Once I try to send the print job the printer itself just keep spooling / feeding paper without printing anything. However using the test engine button at the back it is able to print fine (a whole bunch of black line). Tried re-install the printer without much success. I am using XP Pro.

I am suspecting the following:
Problem with printer's memory
Problem with parallel-USB cable
Problem with the firmware

Pls share any insights thx!
