hp laser printing from VMS host via Procomm

I am trying to print to an HP laser printer from an application running on a Alpha using VT100 emulation in Procomm. I am OK with turning the print capture on from the application and getting things to print to the local printer on the PC from procomm. But I am unable to send specific printer commands after I turn the capture on. The commands just get printed as regular text. I want to set the printer to landscape from the appication. Any ideas?
