HP Inkjet Cartridge 51649a (49)

I need to open this cartridge and try to refill. Came to this printer (Hp 656c) after a year or so of no use. It worked fine at first but now it seems the color is fading. I trashed another HP printer because the circuits failed, but I was left with a few refills of ink and would like to try to refill this cartridge but can't seem to figure how to get the cap off. Can anyone help?

Try breaking its seal by levering it off with a thin metal blade, like a penknife.
Or lay the cartridge on its side, hold down firmly, and strike the green top with a blunt instrument to break its seal.
