Hello

We have recentley purchased a DL140 and have noticed that it is extremely noisy. On previous servers when they boot they would be noisy but when they get to a certain point in the setup the server goes quiet but unfortunatley this doesnt occur with this server and is now giving me a headache.

Any ideas or am i going mad and it should be making this much noise?

Cheers

Probably depends on ambient temp is the server in a hot room?
Does it have proper airflow??

Most computers are temp sensitive meaning that if the ambient Temp is high like 90+degrees F then the server will have to run the fans at a much high speed to maintain the preset value. As for the DL140 I just ordered 2 of these the other day so i will test this on one of mine and write a new post on it.

Thanks,
IBACFII

Have you updated the firmware? It has worked for me in the past.

No I have not update the BOIS? is this what you are refering to?
If so I think both of mine have the current BOIS but they are very loud.
