HP Deskjet gives shocking results!

Well, not exactly, but...

HP Deskjet 6840, just outside warranty wouldn't you know it! User noted sparks flying when USB plug insert into computer's USB socket. This has just started to happen recently. Printer still works fine incidentally.

Measured potential difference of 32vdc between metal chassis of printer and earthed case of PC. Printer's PSU is actually poking out 32vdc, which is correct according to the spec.

Both PC and printer are plugged into the same double outlet mains socket, so no earth loops there. Have also checked continuity of mains leads to PC and printer PSU. No faults found.

Anyone come across this kind of fault before? Other than getting a replacement PSU for the printer, I'm not sure what else to try...

Suspect that it is not in the power brick but the printer. Is the brick connected with 3 wires or 2? If 2, then one should be at earth through the brick and connected to the case.
