Greetings !

I have (my neighbor has) a Deskjet 932 printer. We just reformatted his hard drive and loaded all the programming back in. He had a CD for the HP printer and we ran it and went through the motions...but it said if we wanted to install a driver for the USB port we had to cancel and follow the directions on the Poster. well, unfortunately my neighbor does not know where the Poster is.

So, i was wondering if anybody could give me instructions on how to get this printer working with the USB port.

Thanks !

Normally, you would install the disc FIRST, before ever plugging the printer into the USB port.

If you have already plugged the printer into the USB port, then leave it plugged in, go into the control panel and remove the printer FROM THE DEVICES LIST, not just from the printers folder. Then unplug the printer from the USB port.

Probably wouldn't hurt to restart at this point.

Install the software, and when prompted (or when the software is finished installing), plug in the USB cable to the printer again.

You should get a "Found new hardware" popup, and it should finish installing from there.

I have seen this happen before, where someone has the printer plugged in before they install HP's software, and this is the cure.

Just my $0.02
